Product Description

Raw bamboo honey in a 5 pound container. Raw honey has not been heated and simply filtered through a large mesh screen. The screen removes larger particles and allows pollen, propolis and beeswax particles to pass through it. Bamboo honey comes from the Japanese Knotweed plant which is found in 39 of the 50 states.

This plant is considered a very invasive weed. In the U.S.A. it is listed as an invasive weed in Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, New York and Washington states.

Other English names for Japanese knotweed include fleeceflower, Hancock's curse, elephant ears, pea shooters, donkey rhubarb (although it is not a rhubarb), sally rhubarb, Japanese bamboo, American bamboo, and Mexican bamboo. Japanese knotweed flowers are valued by some beekeepers as an important source of nectar for honeybees, at a time of year when little else is flowering. Japanese knotweed yields a monofloral honey, usually called bamboo honey by northeastern U.S. beekeepers, like a mild-flavored version of buckwheat honey. This honey is a very dark honey and also has a pleasant sweet taste to it.

Love Bamboo Honey
Had Bamboo Honey for the first time at a local restaurant that uses all fresh produce. Fell in love with it. Found this on EBee Honey's site and had to have it. It did not disappoint! Just love it. Thank you!!

Love the Bamboo Honey
We had never tried the bamboo honey before but after reading the reviews we decided to give it a shot. The whole family loves it. Incredible taste and goes great in my oatmeal every morning. Will be buying the gallon size next time!

Yahoo for Bamboo
We recently added Bamboo honey to our list of favorite EBee Hony's. It's a wonderful alternative to our favorite Buckwheat. Almost a Buckwheat-lite if you will, a milder taste with a wonderfully sweet after taste. It's delicious with butter on my wife's fresh baked breads and biscuits. It goes great in tea's and with some warm water and a shot of Jack for a nice winters pick-me-up. All around just a good versatile honey. Mike in the Far West

Our kids' new favorite
I bought this based on other positive reviews. The honey is mild and we use it on everything. My kids love the honey blossom honey, but this is their favorite now.

Japanese Knotweed (Bamboo) Honey: Yay!
Who knew that that obnoxious weed could produce such delicious honey! With the beesí help, of course. I expected it to be like Buckwheat Honey but milder, and instead it has a wonderful rich and mild taste of its own. To my taste-buds, itís reminiscent of butter or butterscotch, and just fabulous.

Just received my second order of this honey. LOVE the taste and the texture. Great on toast. Doesn''t run near as much as store honey. A healthy treat.
